We had our wrap party Saturday night, June 2, 2007, and it was the first time I watched Ratatouille. I stayed away from our internal screenings, and even though I heard lots of positive reviews, I was still surprised at how good this movie is. This movie is way better than our last movie, Cars (not that Cars was terrible, but Ratatouille is just that good). The story kept on moving, and at no point did I feel it was getting slow. I’ve always thought movies should get to the point, and not drag on, like some recent movies I’ve seen (such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End).
Ratatouille also is much different in that it doesn’t have the toilet humor prevalent in other animated films (which I think is getting lame, similar to someone telling the same joke over and over). There’s a lot of intelligent humor, but that may mean younger kids probably wouldn’t get the joke. However there’s more than enough to keep the young ones laughing and entertained throughout. I haven’t given much details to the movie, as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Releasing June 29, 2007, it’s definitely a must see movie for all.
