It’s been a year since we first thought about remodeling the kitchen, 10 months since we first started demolishing the kitchen, and 6 months since we had a functional kitchen. Now if we can only find the undercabinet counter lights we like, we would be set!
We’re looking for some LED undercabinet counter lights, but the costs for them seem to be marked up excessively. For example, the LED lights I have behind the TV cost under $6 a foot. What appears to be the same type of LED lights that are now marketed for the kitchen are now going for around $60 a foot! What a rip-off! Maybe I’ll just buy the ones marketed for behind TVs, and redo the wiring so I can use the wires I already have protruding from under the cabinets.
As for the rest of the kitchen, everything turned out really nice. We did the kitchen ourselves, with no contractors or other professionals. It was a lot of research and YouTube howto videos! I have a bunch of photos of the kitchen, but as I’m writing this, I don’t have them available. But to give you an idea of what we have in the kitchen now, here’s a couple of images I borrowed:

That’s the refrigerator’s water and ice dispenser. The control panel lights up when you go near it. At other times, it’s a sleek black panel.

Those are the knobs that control the burners, the griddle, and the two ovens.
The old oven was a simple wall oven that broke on us once. And it always made a weird whining noise when it was on. Also it wasn’t a convection oven. The new ones are a major improvement! One of these days, we’ll finish the kitchen, when we find the lights for the right price…
