AVP Las Vegas & San Francisco

Posted on September 23, 2007

Last weekend we were at the AVP Best of the Beach event at Pier 30/32 in San Francisco, and the weekend before we were at the AVP Gods & Goddesses of the Beach at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Both events were excellent, with all the big names playing. The tournament in Las Vegas was to find the best player, whereas the tournament in San Francisco was much like the other events during the year, where the best team wins.

It’s definitely more exciting to watch the event live versus watching it on television. The emotions seem to show more live, and you get to see everyone rather than what the cameraman decides to look at. As with any other sport, feeling the noise of the crowd adds to the excitement.

In between matches or during timeouts, the sponsors come out and threw free stuff into the stands. Items given away range from tennis balls for dogs to Crocs sandals. Too bad they weren’t giving away the official AVP game volleyballs. If they were, I’m diving over the old ladies for it!
