Rome, Italy

Posted on September 21, 2007

Hmmm…after watching the movie Gladiator, the Roman Colosseum just doesn’t look quite the same. I wanted to see barbarians with swords, maces, shields, and javelins. Maybe even a tiger here and there.

We walked around on our own in Rome. No tour guide to tell us where to go, or keep us in a boring place longer than we want to. We visited the Spanish Steps and the Forum among many other places. Lots of people everywhere. It is the summer tourism season after all.

Rome was where we had the worst gelato. There were bits of ice in the gelato, and it was nowhere as dense as good gelato we’ve had. The flavor wasn’t that strong, and it was probably the biggest waste of 3 euros anyone can have.
